Stacy Kadesh
has been working with students locally for over
20 years. After earning a Masters in Curriculum
and Instruction, she worked as an educator in
the San Ramon Valley Unified School District for
16 years. In addition to her teaching
responsibilities, she worked at the site and
district levels training teachers in the best
practices of literacy. She attended UC
Berkeley where she earned her certificate in
College Advising & Career Planning. Stacy
has been working with students and parents to
provide guidance and expertise in the college
admission process. Stacy believes that college
is about fit and works with the students to find
their best match.

Gymnastics Spring
Show!
Rehearsals are now under way for the 1st
Annual Edge Gymnastics Spring Show, So You
Think You Can Flip! This year's show
is sure to be a hit and a ton of fun for all
gymnasts involved.
Remember that attendance at 2 out
of the 3 rehearsals is
required, plus the
dress rehearsal which is
scheduled for Friday June 11 at
5:30pm.
All Edge families are welcome to come watch
the show on Saturday June 12, 2010 at
4:00pm.
Ticket prices are:
$5 for adults
$2 for children 6-12
years
FREE to seniors and
children 5 and under!
All gymnasts in the show have 2 tickets
pre-paid included in their show entry fee and
any additional tickets may be purchased at the
door or prior to the show at the Edge
office. Hope to see you all at the

Summer is fast
approaching and camps are filling up
fast! Sign up today to reserve
your child's spot!
We have ten weeks of camps planned out for
your children. They will learn gymnastics
skills as well as creating arts and crafts,
playing games, and enjoying free time in the
foam pit. We provide a snack to everyone;
full day campers should bring a lunch.
Each week will provide an exciting theme
providing focus and fun. We will take
a trip down to the park for a
special outside activity each week.

Rhythm and Moves!
A
new class debuting this summer for children 18
to 36 months. This parent-participation class
will combine gymnastics and basic dance while
playing a small rhythmic musical
instrument
!

life, the brain is undergoing rapid physical
development. Studies show participation in music
can influence that process, with ramifications
that last a lifetime. Research has linked active
music making with increased language
discrimination and development, math ability,
improved school grades, better-adjusted social
behavior, and improvements in
"spatial-temporal
reasoning," - a cornerstone for problem

Nationals!

9's Compete at Western National
Championships
Congratulations to
Level
9 Western National competitors,
Hannah
Hitchcock and Vinnesa Narvaez!
Hannah and Vinnesa competed in Des Moines, Iowa
April 30th - May 1st, representing Region
One.
Hannah placed 5th on Floor
Exercise and Vinnesa placed 2nd on Vault,
2nd on Balance Beam, and 6th in the All around.
Western Nationals was hosted by
Chow's Gymnastics, home of Olympic gold
medalist, Sean Johnson and 2008 Olympic Team
Head Coach, Liang Chow. The girls
enjoyed the welcome banquet where Sean Johnson
made a special appearance. Miss Johnson
also attended the competition to cheer on the
Level 9 Western National
champions!

Serena Leong
Competes at the National
Invitational Tournament
Congratulations to
Serena
Leong, who competed at the Level 10 National
Invitational Tournament, held in Dallas, Texas
on May 9th, after qualifying at Region 1
Championships. Serena placed 2nd on Vault,
with a 9.5, 2nd on Floor, with a 9.575, and 8th
in the All around. Great job
Serena!

Team Celebrates the Competitive
Season
On May 23rd, the Edge
Team celebrated a record-breaking
competitive season at the Team Banquet at the
Back Forty Barbeque in Concord. Thanks to
the Edge Gymnastics Foundation for providing
this wonderful celebration for these deserving
team athletes!

On Thursday, May 27th, the entire
Edge Team enjoyed a good jump at the brand new
Sky High Sports in
