Hi there EDGE Families! We
are off and running to a great start in 2010.
Can you beleive how fast January flew by? We
can't either! Our Early Spring Session is
already approaching, so don't forget to reserve
your child's spot this week! Registration opens
to the public next week on Feb 8th, and classes
will fill up fast.
We will be
hosting a meet this month here at Edge.
Make sure to come cheer on our levels 4 - 10 as
they compete! Information about the meet

The Early Spring Session starts
February 15th! We will be enrolling only members
the week of February 1st - February 6th. Please
stop by the front desk or call the gym to
reserve your spot. Online registration will
open after
priority registration is over.
Registration opens up to the public
February 8th. Make sure you reserve your
spot in the Early Spring session
before it starts. Your child's spot will
only be held for you when you re-enroll for
the Early Spring session.

Olympics for Academy and Devo
Students!
We are very excited about our
first annual Edge Olympics! And we
are thrilled about the huge enrollment we
have had so far!
When:
February 6, 2010 at
3:00pm
Where: Edge
Gymnastics
What: The Edge
Olympics is an opportunity for Academy students
to perform individual routines in a
non-competitive meet. All participants
will receive awards for each event and a goodie
bag. Routines have been taught to all
students in class during the month of January,
regardless of whether they participate in the
event. Sign your child up for the Edge
Olympics, and come watch them perform the
gymnastics skills they have been working so hard
to learn!
Last day for
sign-ups is Wednesday, February
3.

Black Tie
Invitational
Edge Gymnastics
and the Edge Gymnastics Foundation, our team's
non-profit organization, will host a meet at our
facility on February 21st for Levels 4 through
10. Mark your calendar and come cheer on
your team right here at Edge! All gym
members are invited! The meet
runs Sunday from 9:00 a.m. - 8:00 p.m.

A Note From Coach
Darcy
Have
you seen our "Little Tadpole" bulletin board? On
it you will find each week's Preschool class
plans, so you can be informed about what your
child is doing in class. Ask your
little gymnast what he or she learned during
class, and about the word of the week!
You
will also find information about preschool
gymnastics and the reasons it is so great for
your child. Preschool gymnastics is not just
about strength and coordination; it also teaches
self confidence and classroom readiness. Our
Preschool Program offers so much more than
gymnastics, so stay informed by checking the
bulletin board each week. If you
have a child (or two) in our Preschool Program
and like what is happening here, tell a friend
and benefit from our refer-a-friend program!

Little Hoppers' Wednesday Lunch
Bunch Program
EDGE Gymnastics is
partnering with Diablo Kid's Chauffer (DKC) to
offer a fun, safe and fitness oriented program
following your morning Preschool/Kinder program.
DKC will pick up your child
from school (Hidden Hills Elementary or Live Oak
Elementary) at the end of the school day and
safely drive them to Edge for a snack and
one-hour gymnastics & obstacle course class
followed by lunch of pizza and veggies.
We offer an option for parents
to pick up at EDGE or we can arrange a return
ride back to your school or to your preferred
final destination for an additional fee.
Starting Feb. 3, 2010 SESSION
FEES: (Include one-way transport, snack, lunch
and one-hour
class)

Interview
with Coach Shawna!
Meet Shawna Pinkston one of Edge
Gymnastics's amazing coaches. Edge student
Brooke Kadesh sat down with Shawna to find out a
little bit more about
her:
1.Were you a gymnast as a
kid? Yes, I grew up
doing gymnastics. What
ages? I think I
started at 2 and retired at 15 as a level
7.
2. What is a favorite childhood
memory of gymnastics? One time I remember doing so many
back handsprings that I ran into the
wall!
3. What was your favorite
event? I liked the
vault because flying through the air is the
greatest
feeling.
4. What is your favorite event to
coach? I really
like coaching floor and
vault
5. Do you have any pets?
I have a bulldog named
Lucille - We call her Lucy for
short.
6. What is your favorite
food? Sushi-I love The Happy Roll. It
has Shrimp Tempura, cucumber, rice and sweet
shrimp on
top.
7. What is your favorite thing to
do for fun? I love
hanging with my hubby

8. Do you have any hidden
talents? I love to
bake and break

One-Day Camps: Looking for
something for your kids to do while they are out
of school for school staff development days?
Sign them up for a One-Day Camp
here at EDGE. One-day camps will give your child
an opportunity to work on their gymnastics
skills, enjoy a special project, and a day of
