What's New at
EDGE?
The Late Spring Session is
coming! Which means Priority
Registration is upon us at the end of April!
Make sure to take advantage of this opportunity
to keep your child's existing spot in class.
They will not be automatically re-enrolled in
the next session. Priority Registration
starts April 26th - May 1st, and opens to
the public on Monday, May
3rd.
Late Spring Session runs from May
10th - June 19th. The Late Spring
Session is a short session, only six weeks long,
and culminates in our Spring Show in June.
Register for both the Late Spring Session and
Summer Session before the Late Spring Session
starts, and receive a discount on the
total registration fee.
Check out our new
equipment arriving over the next few
weeks! We have already added some boys
equipment for our growing Boys Program.
New and different equipment is just part of our
effort to continuously improve the Edge
programs! |

Show!
June 12, 2010
will be our first annual Spring Show! This
year's theme, "So You Think You Can Flip" is
sure to be a hit. The show is open to ALL
Edge students! Students must be enrolled
in the Late Spring session in order to
participate. Registration runs from
April 12th through May
8th. Sign up early for an "Early
Bird" discount! Early Bird discount ends
April 24th.
Our last One Day Camp is May
17th
San
Ramon Unified Scool District has it's last staff
development day on May 17th, so this means no
school for your kids. This One Day Camp will
give your children an opportunity to work on
their gymnastics skills, participate in a
special project, and have a fun-filled day of
fitness! This day camp is from 9am - 3pm with
early drop-off and late pick-up available. Sign

Interview with Coach
Eileen
Please welcome Coach Eileen Swanson, who
recently joined Edge's staff. Eileen, a
Bay Area native, was an elite level gymnast and
trained at the highly renowned Karolyi's
gymnastics club in Houston , Texas . After a
successful career at the elite level, Eileen was
granted a full ride scholarship to the
University of Washington. After two
seasons with the Huskies and receiving the
Rookie of the Year honor, Eileen transferred to
UCLA to finish out her gymnastics career. After
graduating from UCLA, Eileen found triathlons as
a means to satisfy her hunger and drive for
competition and currently races as a
professional triathlete and coaches triathletes
throughout the world.

Where did
you train?
Oh, all over. One of the
places that I trained was at Karolyi's
Gymnastics in Houston TX.
What was
your favorite event?
Vault
Do you have
any hobbies?
Yes, I have lots! I do
triathalons, stand up paddling and I love to
surf in Hawaii and Santa Cruz!
What is
your funniest gymnastics
memory?
Well it is kind of funny and
kind of scary. When I first started competing at
about 8 years old, I was doing my floor routine
and halfway through I froze and forgot what to
do. I just stood there frozen and I looked at my
coaches. They showed me what to do next and then
I was OK.
What is
your favorite event to coach?
Floor,
because I really like teaching kids how to
tumble.
Do you have
any pets?
I have a yellow lab named
Belle.
Do you have
a favorite food?
I love sushi,
especially Spicy Tuna Roll.

Come to Open Gym For 5
and Under!
Open Gym for kids age five and
under is Fridays from 12om to 1pm.
Open gym is open to members and non-members, so
join us and bring a friend. What a great way to
spend time with a play group. If your
friend signs up for a class you will
receive a credit for our pro-shop! We look
forward to seeing you at
open gym.
